The artist and the poem
Dragons and fairies, gnomes and giants,
Under the magic chisel out they stand,
To some force matter duly conforms
And beauty springs from the stone with no form.
The fountain whispers and the distant past,
Its myths and its valiant, relive at last.
Excalibur arises from legends
And in Paimpont elfs run along Vivianne.
Giving birth to world through maternity
O! Sacred mother, woman magical
You who watch for us on eternity
Eyes turned far in dreams intersidereal.
To Africa we go through black beauties,
Merlin brings Celtic legends and memories.
Serene lines of Tibetan Buddhas
Of wisdom fill our mind with words and ideas
Dragon, nostrils swollen, inspiring awe,
Is it the Grail you crush between your claws?
Pagan deities, beauties of times ancient,
Secret of eyes frozen in the distant.
Fabulous Dragons with tortured shapes
Embrace female bodies with their rings
And some stars see them through their path crossing:
The Sun shining and Moon in silver shades.
The masculine Sun splashes all the light
The feminine Moon sparkles the darkness,
They kill the dark mantle lugubriousness,
Together they revive the first lights.
Thanks to their union a future can come
Where man, fallen, divine again will become.
Statues, bas-reliefs, shapes that are pure,
Figurines, busts, in the round… sculptures,
For ever, defying the ephemeral,
Freezing transience in stone material.
